plasma pen fibroblast
Plasma Pen is the only cosmetic treatment to safely use controlled plasma heat to reduce excess skin volume, without having to go under the knife. We use the Ultra Plasma Pen by Louise Walsh International, top of the line in fibroblast plasma skin tightening and lifting. The great thing is that downtime is minimal compared to more invasive procedures. Healing time is around 7 - 10 days and results continue to improve over 10 - 12 weeks, once the skin underneath has fully healed.
This non surgical, non-invasive skin tightening and lifting treatment stimulates fibroblasts in the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, so has an antiageing and rejuvenating effect. Results are impressive when compared to other treatments, procedures and devices.
Best know for its success with non-surgical eye lifts, neck tightening, tummy tightening and resurfacing UV sun-damage and aged skin. Plasma Pen is an ideal treatment for anyone who wants to achieve a smoother, more youthful complexion, with results that look natural.
At Dew we also offer full facial, neck and décolletage Advanced Plasma Peels. This is a resurfacing treatment that evens out irregular skin tone/pigment, UV sun damage, and smooths uneven texture. Fine lines, open pores and skin imperfections are greatly reduced, along with a reduction in sebaceous secretion, which impacts acne and hormonal breakouts, due to the purifying effect of plasma energy. This treatment is suitable for all ages, particularly those wanting skin rejuvenation, or an alternative anti-ageing treatment.
A free consultation is required prior to any Plasma Pen treatment, including the Advanced Plasma Peel, and you can book online, phone us, or call us for more information.
The Plasma Pen Ultra, by Louise Walsh International, delivers plasma using a precisely accurate hand-held device. It works by utilising the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted from our skin, to form a plasma charge (hence the name plasma skin tightening).
The skin instantly shrinks and tightens and results are noticeable immediately after the treatment. Results are even more noticeable after eight weeks, once the skin underneath has healed, and final results can be seen at 12 weeks.
In most cases only one treatment is needed. However, one or two post-treatments may be needed to get the results you want. The degree of skin laxity and final expectations will be a factor in re-treating. This can be safely repeated after 10 - 12 weeks. Alternatively, a light Plasma Peel treatment may be all that is required.
Louise Walsh International Plasma Pen is a highly engineered German-produced device and used world-wide. That is why we use their device at Dew. It simply is the best!
advanced plasma peel
The Advanced Plasma Peel is perfect for those wanting hyperpigmentation correction, skin resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, treatment of active acne or age spots. This treatment does not use the 'spot' or 'dot' method, but instead a spray-type method. Treatments can be repeated in six weeks, if required. Those wanting an Advanced Plasma Peel to treat active acne would need to discontinue the use of acne steroid creams, such as Accutane and Roaccutane, six months before treatment.
What to expect for a plasma pen treatment
Plasma produces heat, so numbing cream is applied to each site. You should feel little to no pain during the treatment.
You are likely to experience some minor side effects in the first 3-5 days. These include swelling for 1-3 days afterwards, particularly the eye area. The treated site will have tiny but visible dots which will shed over the next 5-10 days. These can be itchy at times.
To avoid side effects, such as hyperpigmentation, all aftercare instructions and products must be adhered to. A follow-up appointment is scheduled for 6 weeks, however, a client may contact us regularly to update us on their results, or ask any questions.
What are fibroblasts?
These are cells found in the dermis. Both the number and production of fibroblasts decrease with age, resulting in a lower density of fibroblasts. Fibroblasts produce collagen and elastin, the building blocks of our skin. Only an inflammatory response, such as occurs with plasma, will cell division and regeneration be stimulated. This results in new collagen and boosted elastin levels.
